The oldest European Conference on the theme of business processes took place on 15th April 2010 at Sheraton Hotel in Zagreb, Croatia
The 8th European Business Process Conference 2010 (hereinafter “the Conference”) took place on 15th April 2010 under the auspices of Government of the Republic of Croatia and Business Management Institute at Sheraton Hotel in Zagreb, Croatia.
Under the motto "Vital values create the future" Conference focused on the knowledge, resources and experience that can help companies, government bodies and society in this recession conditions.
The Conference hosted key note speakers from European Union and the region, including Stefan Engel-Flechsig, President of EU Commission for e-Invoice, Blaz Golob, director of the Center for Development of e-Governance for South Eastern Europe, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Among the other speakers we emphasize Gartner analyst Mark Raskino from London and Professor Zlatko Lagumdžija, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Sarajevo.
On the Conference was held a round table "BPM as a key factor in the strategic repositioning in recession dynamics" which was attended by leading representatives of the Croatian business, government and science sector. Business management in business and public sector requires fast reactions in recession, allowing the business processes repository and e-businesses, bringing also very large savings, accelerating business processes, improving communication with customers and suppliers and making us more efficient.
The aim of the Conference gave an answer to the question what needs to be done in order to increase benefits of e-business in Croatia and in the SEE region. This was presented by domestic and foreign experts who have developed knowledge of business processes and e-business as preconditions for quality connection between companies and government bodies in order to improve the overall competitiveness of the economy.
In year 2002 in Zagreb was held the first Conference on business processes. It was also the first such event in Europe. Eight years later, the Conference has acquired the status of the largest conference in the region, dealing with business processes and knowledge management. Its impact on the organization of numerous projects is recognized in the business and public sector. The main organizers are the Faculty of Economics and Business Zagreb, Croatia, Faculty of Organisation and Informatics, Varazdin, Croatia and InfoDom Group. Co-organizers are the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship, Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, the Central Office for e-Croatia, Croatian Chamber of Economy and Regional Center development of e-Governance in Ljubljana.
